Practice Description

Mr. Frankel’s practice encompasses all aspects of estate planning and estate administration. He specializes in sophisticated planning for entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals, both U.S. residents and non-residents. Mr. Frankel has extensive experience in trust and estate related litigation, both tax matters (negotiations with the IRS and litigation in US Tax Court and federal district and appellate courts) and disputes in New York and federal courts concerning trust and estate related matters. Mr. Frankel advises non-profit entities, including significant private foundations. Mr. Frankel is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and SuperLawyers; he has been recognized as one of the “Top 100 New York SuperLawyers.”

Mr. Frankel has been an Assistant Editor of Practical Drafting published by United States Trust Company of New York (now US Trust Bank of America) since 1988; his article entitled “Life Settlements: Sale of Life Insurance Policies In The Open Market,” appeared in the 39th Annual Heckerling Institute On Estate Planning, 2005.

Presentations

Mr. Frankel has written and lectured extensively on estate planning including at such prestigious programs as the NYU Institute on Federal Taxation and the Heckerling Instititute on Estate Planning. He has also lectured before the New York State Surrogate’s Association.
