Andriy Pazuniak Quoted by Seventh Circuit

2009 summer associate Andriy R. Pazuniak Seton Hall Law Review Comment entitled “A Better Way to Stop Online Predators: Encouraging A More Appealing Approach to § 2422(b)” was quoted by the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in United States v. Berg, No. 09-2498, 2011 U.S. App. LEXIS 6816, 2011 WL 1238309 (7th Cir. Apr. 5, 2011). Mr. Pazuniak’s comment discusses a federal statute, 18 U.S.C. § 2422(b), used to prosecute sex offenders who attempt to lure minor victims online. In Berg, the Seventh Circuit upheld the defendant’s ten-year prison sentence for violating the statute and cited Mr. Pazuniak’s comment to support its interpretation of the statute’s intent requirement. Mr. Pazuniak will be rejoining CL&M as an associate this fall.
