Release of DEIS for the New Jersey-New York Expansion Project

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued a draft environmental impact statement for the New Jersey-New York expansion project on September 9, 2011. The Project would permit CL&M’s clients Texas Eastern Transmission, LP and Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC to expand their existing natural gas pipeline facilities, including the construction of approximately 20 miles of pipeline from Linden, New Jersey to the westside of Manhattan, to deliver up to 800,000 dekatherms per day of natural gas to the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area. The Project would provide much needed natural gas infrastructure for the region and will facilitate the goals of the New Jersey and New York State Energy Plans and Mayor Bloomberg’s PlaNYC. Texas Eastern and Algonquin intend to begin construction late spring 2012 in order to have the pipeline facilities in service by November 2013. Clifford P. Case III, Christine A. Fazio, Victor J. Gallo, Zara F. Fernandes and Michael K. Plumb represented Texas Eastern Transmission, LP and Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC.
