Federal and New York State Reporting Requirements for Environmental Spills and Releases

June 2001
Our report "Federal and New York State Reporting Requirements for Environmental Spills and Releases" summarizes the requirements under New York State and federal law for reporting spills and other releases of environmentally sensitive materials, including hazardous wastes, hazardous substances, petroleum products and asbestos. Among other things, tank leaks, discharges to waterbodies, and worker exposures to carcinogens are covered. "Hotline" telephone numbers (where applicable) are listed, and statutory and regulatory citations are provided.

This report would be of interest to firms routinely handling or treating such materials, persons with environmental regulation and compliance responsibilities, and their advisors.

The report is 46 pages in length.

Please contact the co-directors of our Environmental Practice Group, Clifford P. Case (case@clm.com), Stephen L. Kass (kass@clm.com), or Jean M. McCarroll (mccarroll@clm.com) to request a copy of the report.
