PETER FLÄGEL APPOINTED TO COUNSEL AT CARTER LEDYARD & MILBURN LLP 

NEW YORK, January 12, 2009 – Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLP is pleased to announce that Peter Flägel has been appointed to Counsel effective January 1, 2009. Mr. Flägel will continue his corporate and securities practice with the firm and will work from the New York office, located on Wall Street. He is admitted to practice in Germany and New York.  Prior to beginning his U.S. legal career as an associate at Carter Ledyard, Mr. Flägel was an associate at Esche Schümann Commichau in Hamburg, Germany.

McTamaney, a partner and Chair of the Corporate Department at the firm. “In his new capacity Peter will continue to strengthen and expand our U.S. corporate and securities practice, particularly in Europe.”

Mr. Flägel’s practice focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions and public and private equity transactions.  He has had substantial experience representing clients from Germany in the US, as well as managing the German legal aspects of numerous international transactions in a broad range of industries.

Mr. Flägel, 40, attended Georgia-Augusta University School of Law in Goettingen, Germany, where he earned a J.D. in 1994 and a Dr. jur. in 1996.  He received his LL.M. from Fordham University School of Law in New York in 1999.

Mr. Flägel, a native of Germany, is also fluent in Spanish. He resides in Upper Montclair, NJ.
