NEW YORK, January 12, 2010 – Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLP (www.clm.com) is pleased to announce that Jeffrey L. Loop has joined the firm as Counsel effective January 4, 2010. Mr. Loop will be part of the firm’s Litigation Department, and will work from the New York office, located on Wall Street.

Carnevale, chair of the Litigation Department and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. “Jeff’s state and federal court experience, especially with media-related, intellectual property and commercial matters, strengthens and expands our litigation capabilities to better serve clients.”
Mr. Loop has extensive trial experience advising corporate and individual clients in a broad range of sophisticated litigation matters including; defending a major image licensing company against three separate actions claiming damages of hundreds of millions of dollars for alleged lost original photographs, prosecuting copyright infringement and ICANN domain claims against various defendants, and several right of privacy/publicity and copyright claims. He has defended a major publisher in connection with claims by authors for breach of contract. Furthermore, Mr. Loop advised the municipal transportation authority of a major U.S. city on First Amendment issues relating to proposed changes in its advertising policy. He also has experience with international commercial arbitration and antitrust matters.
Mr. Loop, (Age 45), earned a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Florida in 1987 and a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2001 where he graduated summa cum laude. He is admitted in New York, United States District Courts for the Southern & Eastern Districts of New York and United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He was previously an associate at Dorsey & Whitney LLP since 2004 and prior to that, an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in their litigation department.
