Michael Shapiro Quoted in Time Magazine about the Mitchell Report
White-Collar Defense partner Michael Shapiro was quoted in Time Magazine on December 13, 2007 on the long-awaited report of steroid abuse in baseball. In the article “Mitchell Named Names. Now What?,” George Mitchell names eighty six suspected steroid users, including Roger Clemens. Shapiro poses interesting questions. “Are there prosecutors chomping at the bit here? “Has Mitchell presented them cases on a silver platter?” “If players are going to sue, they’d better be certain they’re telling the truth about their steroid use, or else they could be subjecting themselves serious perjury charges.”
