Andy Weissman Speaks on Recent Clean Air Act Developments
On Thursday, July 14, environmental partner Andrew D. Weissman led PGS Energy’s web seminar on the newly issued EPA Cross-State Air Pollution Rules. The CSAPR is the most significant new EPA action affecting the U.S. energy sector in more than two decades. The rules impose sweeping new restrictions on emissions from power plants in 27 states east of the Rocky Mountains (including Texas) and the EPA is expected to take an extremely aggressive approach to compliance. Mr. Weissman also spoke on a similar topic on Sunday, July 16 at the National Association of Regulatory Commissioners meeting, where he gave a presentation entitled, “The Impact of EPA’s Clean Air Act Initiatives on Electricity Prices and Use of Coal-fired Generation Units.”
