Tower Prevented, Landmark Protected

Christopher Rizzo successfully represented residents of the Upper East Side Historic District in opposition to a proposal to construct a soaring tower atop a landmark building. The proposal called for construction of a ten-story tower on top of a five-story landmark designed by architects Schwartz and Gross in 1928. Based in part on the advocacy of Chris and residents, both the Community Board and Landmarks Preservation Commission swiftly and unanimously rejected the proposal last week.
