Stephen Plotnick Quoted by Thomson Reuters on Charges Pending Against SAC Capital

Litigation partner Stephen M. Plotnick was quoted in the December 3 Thomson Reuters article “Analysis: SAC’s Cohen shows no signs of retreat despite scandal,” concerning Steven A. Cohen and the SEC’s pending charges against portfolio managers of his hedge fund, SAC Capital.  Plotnick noted that “The SEC and the government have had quite a bit of success against some of the insider trading cases they’ve prosecuted. But the SEC has also been taking a lot of hits in recent years.”  Commenting on the possibility that one of the managers might cooperate with the SEC and help it to build a case against Cohen, Plotnick observed that “They’ll need documents.  Juries like documents. You can attack people for cooperating with the government in various ways, but documents are another thing.”
