Christopher Rizzo, Partner in the Environmental and Land-Use Group, Quoted in The Cooperator on the Climate Mobilization Act
The Cooperator article details the Climate Mobilization Act, passed by City Council in spring of 2019, requiring New York City buildings of 25,000 square feet to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent by the year 2030 and 80 percent by 2050. Chris, who recently co-authored a New York Law Journal article on the impact the Act will have on residential buildings in New York City, told the co-op and condo journal: “Buildings can reduce their carbon emissions by 40 percent by 2030 … But there needs to be a variety of compliance options and financing assistance. Only the rules will clarify whether the City will address those two issues.”
