Megan McKenzie is a litigation associate at Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLP. Her experience has focused on a number of areas including but not limited to First Amendment issues and defamation, white collar, securities, and government investigations, and complex commercial litigation. She has experience with both domestic and international clients addressing issues and disputes in the U.S. and internationally.
Megan’s background in political science and philosophy as well as art and literature helps her to bring a fresh and nuanced perspective to any issue. Prior to joining Carter Ledyard, she worked with two plaintiff-side firms based in New York, working on defamation cases, False Claims Act and related whistleblower matters, class action consumer protection, and federal sex trafficking actions. She has helped clients to obtain injunctions to prevent defamation of character as well as achieved a variety of positive results in partnership and other commercial disputes. Before law school, she worked at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York for 2 years on a large residential mortgage backed securities fraud case pertaining to the financial/housing market crisis, helping the team to secure a $2 billion settlement.
