NEW YORK, August 21, 2000 - Wall Street law firm Carter, Ledyard & Milburn announced today that it will go to "business casual" dress year round. The firm has had a "casual" dress policy in effect since the arrival of its summer associates in May and has had "Casual Friday" year round since 1998. Attorneys and legal assistants will continue to keep a change of business clothes on hand for court appearances and meetings with international clients.

"Our attorneys can work more effectively with firm clients who dress casually throughout the year if they are also in business casual clothes," said Managing Partner Jerome Caulfield.
