NEW YORK, May 23, 2000 - Wall Street law firm Carter, Ledyard & Milburn announced today that it will go to "business casual" dress beginning with the arrival of summer associates and continuing through Labor Day. The firm has had "Casual Friday" in effect year round since 1998. Attorneys and legal assistants will continue to keep a change of business clothes on hand for court appearances and meetings with international clients.

"Many firm clients, in industries ranging from financial institutions to media & technology companies, dress casually year round," said Managing Partner Jerome Caulfield. "It is an accepted element of the industries our attorneys are servicing. We feel that our meeting with these clients will be more effective if our attorneys are also in casual clothes."
