Carter Ledyard congratulates counsel Mary Joan Hoene for winning in the “Small Board Trustee” category of the 24th Mutual Fund Industry Awards on March 30, 2017, at an awards ceremony attended by more than 1,000. The Awards nominations are made by the editorial staff of Fund Action and Fund Direction. This year’s dinner benefited the High Water Women Backpack Drive. Ms. Hoene is an Independent Director of ASA Gold and Precious Metals Limited Inc., a closed end fund listed on the NYSE. In her role as counsel at Carter Ledyard, Ms. Hoene advises investment companies, mutual fund boards, investment advisers and fund service providers, often on special projects requiring an independent perspective. She is an acknowledged expert on investment management matters resulting from her long association with the mutual fund industry in various roles, including the Securities Exchange Commission’s Division of Investment Management and several financial institutions.
