Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLP is pleased to announce that Ahsaki Benion has joined the firm as a Counsel in our Tax Exempt Organizations practice. Prior to joining Carter Ledyard, Ahsaki was the Assistant General Counsel at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), where she provided counsel on a broad range of legal and business issues including domestic grant-making, obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status, unrelated business income tax, charitable solicitation and state law compliance, IRS audits, contracts, intellectual property, and corporate governance matters, among others. Prior to joining the ASPCA, Ms. Benion worked as a corporate associate at two large New York law firms. Ms. Benion received her J.D. from Yale Law School and B.A. magna cum laude from Amherst College.
