Carter Ledyard partner Alan Lewis, chair of the firm’s Internal Investigations and White Collar Defense and First Amendment and Media Law practices, was quoted at length in the New York Times in an article about New York Philharmonic’s principal oboist, Liang Wang. A recent New York Magazine piece prompted questions which led to Mr. Liang’s lawsuit. Mr. Lewis accused the Philharmonic of ”yielding to the modern equivalent of a lynch mob” and ”not affording him the dignity and fairness h[is client] deserves.” He said in a statement that when the Philharmonic investigated the matter in 2018 it ”did not accuse Liang Wang of any misconduct arising from it.” Full press release available here.
Mr. Lewis was also quoted in Slipped Disc regarding the case.
