Carter Ledyard Client, Developer of Trauma Treatment Model, Prevails in Federal Court

April 2, 2018/less than a minute

Carter Ledyard client Lisa Schwarz, developer of the Comprehensive Resource Model trauma treatment model, prevailed on her motion for contempt against Dr. David Grand in proceedings in the Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York to enforce a so-ordered settlement agreement. The court ruled that Dr. Grand had committed contempt of court by sending multiple emails disparaging Ms. Schwarz in violation of two provisions of the settlement agreement. The court also denied Dr. Grand’s cross-motion for contempt against Ms. Schwarz. The court will consider Ms. Schwarz’s damages at an upcoming evidentiary hearing before deciding what monetary sanctions are appropriate. Ms. Schwarz is represented by Carter Ledyard partner John M. Griem, Jr., counsel Theodore McDonough, law clerk Anthony Prinzivalli, and co-counsel Brenda Speer of BL Speer & Associates.
