Appointed in 1986 to serve on the Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York, Judge Cedarbaum presided over several high-profile cases, including the securities fraud case against media personality Martha Stewart. A graduate of Columbia University Law School, Judge Cedarbaum was awarded its Medal of Excellence last year.
