January 3, 2022/2 minute read

Carter Ledyard is pleased to announce the promotions of Mike Bauscher, Guy Ben-Ami, Preston Demouchet, and Karen Meara to partner, and Jacob Nemon to counsel, effective January 1, 2022.

About Our New Partners:

Mike Bauscher is a litigator who focuses his practice on eminent domain matters. He advises municipalities and public-benefit corporations that are using condemnation to acquire interests in real property, guiding them in the planning process for acquisition of properties by eminent domain, the public hearing process, the commencement of acquisition proceedings, and defending against legal challenges to decisions to acquire property interests. Mike also has significant experience conducting valuation trials for the purpose of determining the fair market value of acquired properties.

Guy Ben-Ami represents overseas and domestic companies doing business in the United States, helping Israeli and other offshore clients navigate the many securities issues, as well as a variety of other corporate matters and transactions. Guy has represented funds, REITs, startups, venture capital firms and both issuers and investment banks in IPOs and SPAC transactions. A leader of the firm’s Israeli Cross-Border practice, Guy is admitted to practice in both New York and Israel.

Preston Demouchet, a member of the firm’s Trusts & Estates practice, focuses his practice on tax, estate planning, and the administration of estates and trusts. Preston advises high-net-worth individuals and families by designing complex estate plans tailored to achieve each client’s wealth preservation and transfer goals.

Karen Meara focuses her Environmental and Land Use practice on project siting and development, advising public, private and non-profit clients on environmental review and permitting, regulatory due diligence, land use approvals, construction access issues, and related litigation.

About Our New Counsel:

Jacob Nemon aids businesses, non-profits, and individuals in a broad range of matters involving complex commercial and civil litigation. Jacob litigates commercial cases on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts, in multiple jurisdictions, at the trial level, in bankruptcy court, and on appeal. Clients value Jacob’s ability to analyze a case and determine how to reach the end goal, employing creative theories and legal arguments to deliver the best results.
