Carter Ledyard is proud to support The New York Historical’s upcoming programs and exhibitions, celebrating New York City lawyers’ role in the nation’s creation. This special series of exhibitions and public programs will explore the contributions of New York lawyers and legal traditions to the development of the United States and its democratic institutions.
Presented as part of The New York Historical’s commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary and the opening of its new Tang Wing for American Democracy, the three-week series will run from June 18 through July 9. Through exhibitions, rare historical documents, and conversations with legal scholars and practitioners, the program will examine the role of New York lawyers in shaping foundational American principles, including free speech, constitutional government, and equal rights.
Carter Ledyard is honored to support The New York Historical, a firm client, in this vital educational initiative. By bringing together history, law, and public discourse, the series offers an opportunity for New Yorkers to engage with the legal traditions and institutions that have helped shape American democracy.
Carter Ledyard Partner and Chair of our Tax-Exempt Organization’s practice, Pamela A. Mann, contributed to the development of the programming as part of the planning committee and looks forward to participating in the upcoming exhibitions and discussions.
