We are pleased to announce that the firm’s Executive Committee has named Christopher Rizzo as a co-director of the Environmental and Land Use Practice Group. He will serve in this role along with Christine A. Fazio and Stephen L. Kass. The firm is grateful to former co-director Clifford P. Case, III for co-directing the environmental group with distinction since joining the firm in 1994.
Chris Rizzo’s practice includes a wide variety of environmental, land-use and litigation matters. They include environmental impact reviews for state and city-sponsored projects, compliance with local zoning and preservation laws, open space preservation, open space easements, management of hazardous materials, energy generation and related litigation. His practice also includes general litigation, often related to land-use disputes and contract disputes. He works closely with the firm’s real estate department and corporate department on due diligence related to land transactions and corporate mergers and acquisitions. In a pro-bono capacity, he is involved in several community-based organizations focused on revitalization of New York City’s parks and public spaces.
