Litigation partner G. Michael Bellinger, a former prosecutor, will be an associate justice at the Appellate Defender Office’s 23rd Annual “First Monday in October” fundraiser on October 5 at NYU Law School. The program features a mock Supreme Court argument preceded by a gala cocktail reception. Lewis Liman and David Zornow will argue Apple, Inc. v. FBI, a hypothetical case that confronts the tension between individual privacy and the needs of law enforcement in a digital age. The Honorable Jonathan Lippman will serve as Chief Justice of the Mock Supreme Court and G. Michael Bellinger, Antonia M. Apps, Jonathan P. Bach, Marc P. Berger, Lori E. Lesser, Hallie B. Levin, Tai H. Park, and Anthony L. Ricco will serve as Associate Justices. Last year’s “First Monday” raised more than $500,000 for Appellate Defender programs.
