Rachel has experience advising nonprofit organizations, including public charities, private foundations, social welfare organizations, and trade associations, in matters ranging from formation, applications for tax exemption, internal investigations, governance, asset sale transactions and dissolution. She regularly counsels nonprofit organizations in their dealings with the Internal Revenue Service and the New York State Office of the Attorney General.
Prior to joining Carter Ledyard, Rachel was a Tax Associate in the New York office of a global law firm where she covered a wide range of transactional tax-related matters, primarily supporting the firm’s Private Funds and Mergers & Acquisitions practices. Prior to law school, Rachel founded and directed a 501(c)(3) public charity, growing the organization from the ground up and earning a Best of Westchester award.
