Steven Paul McSloy Presents to the New York Celtic Medical Society

March 2, 2017/less than a minute

On February 16th, Steven Paul McSloy, Chair of Carter Ledyard’s Native American practice, gave a presentation to the New York Celtic Medical Society at the Players Club on Gramercy Park South. His talk, “The Irishman as Indian,” traced the common experiences of the Irish and the Native American peoples in dealing with colonialism and explored the ties between the two peoples, including the famous 1847 gift of famine relief by the Choctaw people to the Irish, for which Irish President Mary Robinson came to Oklahoma 150 years later to express the gratitude. The New York Celtic Medical Society was founded in 1891.
