Carter Ledyard corporate partner Steven Paul McSloy was recently quoted in an article in Law360 about a Supreme Court decision concerning the sovereign status of Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico had argued that it was at least as sovereign as an American Indian Tribe, an argument the High Court did not adopt, and McSloy was asked his opinion of the Court’s ringing reaffirmation of the sovereign status of Indian Tribes in U.S. law, despite Justice Thomas’ very contrary view.
