Carter Ledyard corporate partner Steven Paul McSloy recently spent a day teaching on a pro bono basis for the California Tribal College’s Certificate Program in Tribal Leadership and Governance, which issued certificates to over 50 tribal leaders and government officials from 26 California Indian tribes. Steve gave an introductory three hour lecture on federal Indian Law and then offered detailed talks on sovereign immunity and tribal finance. The California Tribal College is a cooperative effort of more than 50 leading California tribes and native organizations. The Certificate Program was most recently held at the Redding Rancheria in Northern California from April 25 to 29.
