Val Vasi, Counsel and member of Carter Ledyard’s Cybersecurity practice group, was interviewed in two webinar videos published by Ignites on data breach disclosures and data privacy. Val explained that all 50 states have enacted breach disclosure requirements, and endorsed including, as part of an incident response plan, procedures to determine whom to notify and when. Val also discussed the California Consumer Privacy Act (effective January 1, 2020), which will require companies that sell services or products in California and collect data from California residents to provide information to residents about how their data is collected and used.
