Carter Ledyard’s Expanded Practice to LatAm Clients with Inbound US Legal Matters
NEW YORK, NY (October 8, 2024) Carter Ledyard is pleased to announce the launch of its Latin America Cross Border practice as a multidisciplinary team of lawyers dedicated to assisting clients from Mexico, Central America, and throughout South America with legal matters involving US law. Fitting in with the Firm’s international-facing practices, Carter Ledyard’s LatAm practitioners are familiar with handling foreign investments, market entry, IP, employment and M&A and joint venture engagements for both public and private companies. In addition, the Firm’s Trusts & Estate Practice is heavily involved in assisting LatAm families, individuals and family offices in structuring their assets and holdings under US law.
As the Firm celebrates its 170th anniversary serving clients from its Financial District offices, the growth strategy has been an integrated approach to align key verticals: region, industry sector, area of law. The results have been the successful delivery of legal services to clients from around the world across multiple industries and practices.
The Firm’s Co-Chair of Corporate and Latin America, Bryan Hall, commented, “With our Spanish-speaking lawyers, our integrated platform that enables seamless services across practices for our international clients, CLM’s competitive advantage in this market speaks for itself. We are an independent firm, and that allows us to handle clients with a personal touch.”
The practice is planning its growth with the onboard of foreign lawyers in the coming months and will continue to increase its visibility in the Latin America legal market.
