Carter Ledyard has obtained a victory in litigation against the New York State Parole Board: a State Supreme Court judge held that the Parole Board violated a previous court order when it denied parole to an inmate, our client Michael Cassidy. Consequently, the Court found the Parole Board to be in contempt of court, described the Board’s violation as “egregious” and imposed monetary sanctions. This appears to be the first time that a court has held the New York State Parole Board in contempt.
Litigation partner Alan S. Lewis and associates Michael H. Bauscher and Iliza B. Weitzer represent Mr. Cassidy.
