Jeremy Steckel, partner in the firm’s Tax-Exempt Organizations Group, was a featured speaker at the NYC Bar Association’s 10th Annual Not-for-Profit Law Institute entitled Back to Basics: Key Issues in Nonprofit Practice on March 24, 2023.
Jeremy presented on navigating traps for the unwary in New York nonprofit law, along with co-presenter Laura Abel of Lawyers Alliance for New York, and moderator Katherine Hughes of Cleary Gottlieb. “I was energized by the amazing community of NYC nonprofit lawyers and our lively conversation and Q&A on the role of the Board, officers, management and members, ensuring Board and member actions are valid and not subject to challenge, what to cover at an annual meeting, and keeping certificates and bylaws up to date with law and reality,” Jeremy said.
