At the September 17 Association of Corporate Counsel – Greater New York Chapter’s Half-Day Corporate Governance Seminar, corporate counsel Mary Joan Hoene led an afternoon panel “Mutual Governance – Independent Directors Rule” with Gregory N. Bressler, General Counsel at SunAmerica Asset Management, LLC. The session highlighted that mutual funds and closed end funds are subject to unique governance requirements under the Investment Company Act of 1940, along with a discussion of how board governance is implemented by funds and their boards. Anup Khatri assisted with the panel materials, and attended the program along with Matthew B. James.
