Carter Ledyard investment management partner Ron Feiman was recently quoted in Board IQ, a publication for mutual fund boards that analyzes news and trends from the trustee’s perspective. The article, “So You’re Leaving Management. Please Stay on the Board,” considers a recent trend of fund boards deciding to keep on certain fund management executives and board members as fund directors even after a departure from their company.
Ron contributed, “I’ve seen it done, and the former insiders have become amongst the strongest shareholder advocates on the board, … Through their knowledge of the firm, they’ve been able to identify areas that the board should look at and not necessarily to address malicious conditions but because they know which conflicts require exploration.”
