Annelise H. Raymond Alam is an associate in the firm’s Litigation practice group. She works on many phases of litigation, including legal research, writing client memoranda, drafting motions and briefs, preparing discovery requests and responses, and helping prepare cases for arbitration and trial.
Annelise handles a variety of litigation matters, but she focuses on Environmental and Land Use litigation as well as Condemnation matters. Her Environmental and Land Use work includes: litigation involving nuisances, easements, and zoning disputes; advising clients throughout the environmental review process; and reviewing Environmental Impact Statements on behalf of community groups. Annelise’s condemnation experience includes working on matters involving major developments in and around New York City. She has experience evaluating various aspects of fee and fixture claims, working on discovery motions, and assessing whether specific state agencies have the power of eminent domain.
During law school at New York University, Annelise was a Staff Editor for the NYU Review of Law & Social Change. She was also co-president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Cornell University.
Prior to law school, Annelise worked at two law firms in Upstate New York as an immigration paralegal, drafting petitions and gaining experience interfacing with a variety of government agencies.
