Carter Ledyard corporate partner Steven Paul McSloy recently spent two days teaching on a pro bono basis for the California Tribal College’s fourth Certificate Program in Tribal Leadership and Governance, which issued certificates to over 60 tribal leaders and government officials from more than 20 California Indian tribes. Mr. McSloy spoke Monday to give an introduction and overview of Federal Indian Law and Policy, and on Tuesday spoke about Sovereignty, Sovereign Immunity and Tribal Economic Development. The California Tribal College is a cooperative effort of more than 50 leading California tribes and native organizations. The Certificate Program was held at the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation in California from May 1-4.
