Carter Ledyard client Mamaroneck Coastal Environment Coalition achieved a major milestone last week when the Village of Mamaroneck Planning Board denied the applications of Hampshire Recreation LLC to construct a 105-unit subdivision on a flood-prone Critical Environmental Area adjacent to the Long Island Sound. The Planning Board ultimately agreed with MCEC’s position that the proposed development was inconsistent with Village law and would cause significant adverse environmental impacts. Carter Ledyard’s Stephen Kass, Karen Meara and Nick Tapert advised MCEC on all aspects of the Planning Board’s environmental and land use review.
