The FTC Switches Gears on Noncompete Enforcement

Writing for the New York Law Journal, Jeffrey S. Boxer and Jonathan Trafimow examine the Federal Trade Commission’s enforcement of the nationwide noncompete ban that was expected to take effect in September of 2024. Losses in litigations and a change in the presidential administration have led the FTC to abandon its fight to salvage the noncompete ban and to instead refocus on challenging individual employer noncompete agreements.
